I saw these online within the past year when I was still active on other social media like Facebook, and they resound well with me:

I know in many cases they're cherry-picking, but I think they make the point that even so-called "professionals" can really fucking suck at their jobs. I often look at English translations of Japanese RPGs and say to myself, "I can write better dialogue than these morons." And were I a political journalist (though I would never do this since I would very easily stroke out), I could ask far tougher questions to politicians on both the extreme Right and Left than 99.99% of the partial idiots in mainstream news. Even "professional" movie and video game critics. In the former case, I think it's really sad that humor sites like Cracked and the Family Guy parodies make way more intelligent and better commentary than mainstream movie critics have ever made on many films (like the original Star Wars trilogy). In the latter case, I constantly make points and observations on all the games I play that mainstream video game critics don't mention at all. For instance, Final Fantasy Tactics--a major issue I had was the inablity to undo movement in battle like in virtually every other tactical RPG, but in all the mainstream, so-called "professional reviews" I've ever read of the game, no one fucking mentions that at all. Hell, no mainstream critic bitches about not being able to pause the game in the Soulsborne series, and tend to bury inconvenient shit like that (just like in politics, heh). Even scientists haven't been able to make up their damn minds throughout history; Darwin and Einstein were initially ostracized by the scientific community, and the world has gone from going to another Ice Age (like in the 1970s) to becoming a scorching hellhole. In a personal case, my parents both worked in special education, but are about as enlightened as the Nazis when it comes to the disabled (particularly my special autistic case), and there are still a lot of shitty teachers out there.

I hate to bring this up but the part that I can't let slide is the journalism thing.

Journalists aren't paid to discover the truth. They're paid to find facts that are convenient to it's donors. Like if you were to look at the Israel/Palestine situation "Siding with Palestine is antisemitic!" What about the very real lists of atrocities committed? "Don't focus on that! Referendum on whether or not critics of Israel are nice people!" That is true of every single issue. To genuinely try to go after power as a journalist would get them fired. This is why I have no respect for the profession. As for critics of media? Their entire job is to prop up what art is worth contemplation or not and as every bit of art is made with a political viewpoint in mind, it's attraction to "what is most relevant to us" and even Family Guy and Cracked are still propping up criticism of these pieces in that way as what is worth parody is what's worth remembering.

You CAN argue the same thing about the other professions too. Engineers and roads? "Well if we build roads to everywhere its possible to build a road to, how are those people going to still be in a job?"

cherry picking, but let us pick because it is interesting...................

Modern Art- It is not art in as we know it, it is supposed to make you think and it is valid to think it is stupid or boring. In general I do not like it.

Roads: In those far off times things were built to last. Now things are built to a budget.

Things these days aren't built to last and it's by design. That way they make more money since people are willing to buy the newest car or phone every year.
