I hate to bring this up but the part that I can't let slide is the journalism thing.
Journalists aren't paid to discover the truth. They're paid to find facts that are convenient to it's donors. Like if you were to look at the Israel/Palestine situation "Siding with Palestine is antisemitic!" What about the very real lists of atrocities committed? "Don't focus on that! Referendum on whether or not critics of Israel are nice people!" That is true of every single issue. To genuinely try to go after power as a journalist would get them fired. This is why I have no respect for the profession. As for critics of media? Their entire job is to prop up what art is worth contemplation or not and as every bit of art is made with a political viewpoint in mind, it's attraction to "what is most relevant to us" and even Family Guy and Cracked are still propping up criticism of these pieces in that way as what is worth parody is what's worth remembering.
You CAN argue the same thing about the other professions too. Engineers and roads? "Well if we build roads to everywhere its possible to build a road to, how are those people going to still be in a job?"
