The truth is, I think I've only worn a bow tie exactly once in real life during my lifetime (during my older sister's wedding back in 1995 when I was in a tuxedo). I don't really like dolling myself up excessively in reali life, either (except for really formal occasions and job interviews), but I think such clothing looks incredibly cute on anthro characters, and thus reflect that in my art.
