I played it when it first came out on Wii and after one playthrough I never wanted to come back to it for a lot of the reasons you describe. It felt just too difficult in places, and yes there needs to be some challenge but I play games to unwind and have fun. I too found the story less enjoyable than other past Zelda franchise titles like Twilight Princess or Ocarina of Time.

So, I'm hesitant on purchasing it for the Switch even though my kids and I are huge Zelda franchise fans.
